In 2012, La Cuadra AC carried out a community squatter of land that had been abandoned for more than 27 years, derived from the impact caused by the 1985 earthquake. is a benchmark for socio-environmental regeneration in Mexico City.
Huerto Roma Verde generates tools so that local communities can work to face the climate crisis and strengthen the social fabric to achieve individual and collective resilience that helps promote the transition to sustainable cities.
COMMUNITY RECYCLING
We started the Community Recycling project in January 2019, getting many residents of Roma Condesa to participate by delivering their solid and organic waste to the Orchard, thanks to this, we have managed to properly recycle and channel to the recycling industry approximately 900 tons of solid waste and we have composted and transformed approximately 800 thousand liters of organic waste into living soil.
We are the most comprehensive recycling center in CDMX and we are growing generating a positive impact on our local environment and that is why we want to grow to achieve double these goals in 6 months, also regenerating the soils of Xochimilco, where we are already taking the organic waste that we collect.
